IVGID Opens the New Parks Building

Incline Village, NV- After years of anxious anticipation, the Incline Village General Improvement District is proud to announce the opening of the beautiful, fully equipped Parks facility including offices, storage, and garages. The new building is two stories and approximately 5,000 square feet, and the construction of the building cost $896,000. Brad Johnson, IVGID Engineering Manager, said “This is a great building that should serve the district for a long time into the future.”

The Incline Village Parks Staff have successfully managed to run full operations out of several temporary sites, including the Ozone Office at Burnt Cedar Beach while the new Parks building was being constructed. Steven Phillips, Incline Village Parks Superintendent, said that business was often conducted on the hood of the Parks trucks; “It will be nice to do business out of one designated facility with adequate storage for equipment and supplies,” he said.  “Being in one location will allow staff to report to one site, communicate more effectively, improve and enhance efficiency, and help protect the staff and equipment from the elements.”  Steven and his parks crew nicknamed one of the 320-square-foot temporary office trailers, “The Submarine,” and the new parks shop is nicknamed the “Aircraft Carrier.”  While working temporarily out of the Ozone Office, the Parks crew has worked hard to earn the America in Bloom Criteria Award for Community Involvement.

Steven Phillips wants to thank Design Architect Jim Wallace and IVGID Engineering Manager Brad Johnson for their continuous leadership and efforts. The community is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony on November 12 from 4:00pm-5:00pm at 964 Incline Way (behind the DW Reynolds Community non-Profit building).  For more information regarding this release please contact Misty Bray at 775-832-1381.
